Why did I decide to become a VA?

Hi, I’m Andrea and I’ve been a VA, Virtual Assistant, now for 6 months. After having my children, I wanted a career that would work around my family. The traditional roles like, ‘working in a school’ didn’t really appeal to me and I knew I wanted to be my own boss! I also wanted to show my children that you don’t have to go out and get a traditional 9 to 5. If you work hard you can achieve whatever you want.

So…. What could I do?!

Well, I have years of experience in admin, data input, and book keeping, (and it’s also something I really enjoy… weird, I know!) I have always been passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses. So, I decided to have a think about how I could combine these two passions.

Some sort of secretarial/personal assistant seemed like a great fit, but I wanted to work from home.

After doing some research, I came across a great training course in how to be a Virtual Assistant, and several months later AM-VAS was born!

Being a Virtual Assistant ticks all the right boxes for me. It allows me to work from home, be there for my family when they need me, be my own boss and bring in a decent income.

I love being able to help entrepreneurs achieve their business goals by taking away the jobs that they hate doing, (and I secretly love!)
