How do I get work done over Christmas?

There's only one way to get your business through the madness of Christmas and New Year.... Get organised!

December can be a manic month for many businesses, trying to hit deadlines and get products out before the Christmas shut down. However, if you're working from home and a mum too - it's a nightmare.

So here are my top tips for surviving into the New Year:-

1. Get organised - write a list of everything that has to be done before Christmas. It's too long... right? Now cross off anything that can be pushed into January. Write dates next to each item and plan out when you will get them done.

2. Make use of your email accounts 'out of office' facility. Put it on now and set a polite message about working towards Christmas deadlines and that you will be checking emails once a day. Provide any urgent clients with a number if needed.

3. Turn your social media off! Or if you need to post for marketing reasons, then use the scheduling tool and spend a couple of hours doing enough to get you through the next couple of weeks.

4. If you can... outsource. Getting a VA to help with admin, or even a cleaner in to sort the house, a friend to put up the Christmas decks, or a personal shopper to do some of the Christmas shopping and wrapping.

5. Breathe.... remember to book your own time off and enjoy the season with your friends and family. Work to live not Live to work.
